A Reply to Spicybay’s Comments on" Beijing First International Polo Open Tournament”2009 Beijing First International Polo Open Tournament has successfully came to a close, but a comment from the forum user ‘Spicybay’ titled as "Beijing First International Polo Open Comments" made some discordant voices, which is a big concern for every one. From the view of a participating member who experienced the tournament, the comments in the article are clearly inconsistent with the facts and have a tendency to a malicious distortion of facts. Anyone of good sense can see that the "comments" are not in good faith as a friendly criticism, which makes everyone to be heartbroken.2009 Beijing First International Polo Open Tournament pioneered the experience of the government organizing the international polo open tournaments. Anything in its ground-breaking period has flaws. But how to face and deal with it will show one’s outlook on life and values. Now, some people are willing to say that the Polo sport is a noble movement, I would prefer to call it as a gentleman's game. In current times, China has no nobility (I really do not know who said that he himself is noble?), But we can’t have no gentleman. Undeniably, this Open tournament indeed had some flaws, but  I welcome people to to help the organizer improving and enhancing the event organization with warm heart, sincerity, enthusiasm and through a normal channel.The chief of Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau Mr. Sun Kanglin, said: "After Olympics, Beijing's influence in the world increased, polo held in Beijing, can enhance Beijing's image in the world. Soccer and long distance running marathon can be held in any city and by anyone, but only when it reaches a certain degree of economic and social development, can they organize the polo international tournament. Beijing has the best horses and the best sports enthusiasts in the country, even though the same as Shanghai F1 racing, the ordinary people might not participate in this competition, but they can go to appreciate it. We hope to make the Polo Open tournament to be another fine sports tournament in Beijing, which is following Beijing International Marathon, China Open(tennis), Beijing Open snooker tournament."(cited in this discourse from the network of horse crazy blog, aima editor). I think that is right. It is proved that such a practice is also right. Beijing has succeeded in helding the Beijing International Marathon, China Open, Beijing Snooker Open, and I sincerely hope that the Beijing Municipal Government will continue to make efforts to build Beijing's new run for the polo as the city's remarkable card, to form the new spot in sports development of Beijing. I think this is also the desire of all those who love horses and look forward to seeing that. We are delighted to see and to enjoy it.As far as I know, polo in China had a glorious history, but now lags far behind in the world, and after a long time stagnation, polo began in Beijing. Polo in Beijing is no more than 5 years, thus being somewhat immature. But the learning process is very important, and we should take each step carefully. The first place does not really matter, what matters is that currently we need the ability to continue working down to earth. Judging from the contents of the "comments", Spicybay is from the polo circle. I think as an insider of polo circle, one should not only see that China’s polo is in a renaissance period, but also understand "When everybody adds fuel, the flames rise high ", rather than do things that are not only derogatory towards others, but also bad for themselves. China’s Polo development needs the power of all, not those who waving the big stick stabled the words "international standards" to stop.At this point, let me take the liberty to quote some words of the netizens (a horse fans’ blog) and to communicate with Spicybay: "As long as there are benefits for the development of polo or other things about horses, they should be promoted, be encouraged and be supported. “(Horse lover said) “Everything needs time to develop, for those beneficial to the development of horse industry, we should show tolerance, welcome them and allow their existence.” (Baihualin says) "The development also needs time and process, the success of the international polo countries today is also gained within a few days, and we should also give time to our polo people to learn and to make progress.
