部分日记：A Salutary Tale

Counting down till Thursday, which is when I fly back to China to continue with the Long Horse Ride. Wutzala of the Chinese Equestrian Association told me he was going to organise a press conference and party for the weekend, and I assume we will travel back to Guyuan (where I fell off and we left the horses) at the beginning of next week.
He also invited me to take part in an endurance race in Inner Mongolia in a couple of weeks time - all expenses paid and horse provided. It was very tempting but I decided that not only am I not fit enough, but it would be unwise at my age to race a strange horse over unfamiliar territory and risk another accident which could further compromise the ride. Oh to be thirty years younger! |
