The First Yinchuan Equestrian Invitational Tournament will be held by the People’s Government of Yinchuan Municipality on 28th and 29th August 2010. The aim is to promote the National Fitness Program further, to carry forward the Chinese horse culture, to popularize the equestrian activities and to liven up the high level sports activities of the masses.

The three disciplines are as follows:

a. Racing for Chinese Western Horse Lord: 1km, 3km, 10km;
b. Chinese western Trot: 1km, 2km, 3km.
c. Endurance: FEI one star, 80km.

Till now, international Endurance riders from different countries will come to compete in the Yinchuan Endurance, including Belgium, France, Bahrain and Chile.etc. Many of the international riders are the FEI endurance veterans.

Most of the international endurance riders are attracted by the charm of the race track, the Great Wall. How a good fortune to ride along the Great Wall it is! Especially, the Great Wall in Yinchuan is Different from that in Beijing and Shanxi. The Great Wall here was built in Qin and Han Dynasties and distributed in the grassland and deserted rather than high-rise mountains, so it is fit to ride horses.

The race track, the Great Wall, is in Shuidonggou scenic spot. The history of Ningxia began with Shuidonggou. It is a three-dimensional military defense complex that maintains a well-preserved section of the Great Wall. Located in Linhe Town, Lingwu City, the Shuidonggou historic site is 19 kilometers west of Yinchuan City, 30 kilometers south of Lingwu City, and 11 kilometers from Hedong Airport. It lies at the core of the Hedong tourism zone in Yinchuan, bordered by Erdos and Mongolia to the north. Covering an area of 7.8 square kilometers, it links the entire Ningxia tourism area. It is not only a key heritage site under state protection and a national AAAA-level scenic spot, but also a state-level geopark.

The unique Yardang landform forged over 20 extraordinary sceneries such as Devil City, Cyclone Cave, Sleeping Camel Range, Skyscraper Cliff, Cloud Valley, and Willow Ditch with divine workmanship. The military defense gathering of ancient Great Wall, bacon tower, castle, ditch and pier in Ming Dynasty is the only completely-preserved ancient dimensional military defense system in China. The pre-historic site, frontier fortress and ancient castle, Great Wall bacon tower, and army hiding cave have recorded the trace of unremitting human activities in the past 30,000 years. Inside it, you seem to be in a space channel, traveling between the ancient and modern times. You can appreciate eternity of life, wonder of nature, greatness of human, and accumulation of history.
