Despite the global economic downturn, international participation at this year’s China International Equestrian & Horse Industry Fair (CHF 09) is set to grow significantly.
Tarsus Hope Exhibition Company Ltd., the organizer of CHF 09, reports that the number of direct international exhibitors confirmed at CHF 09 has already doubled over the previous show held in 2008 and new enquiries are still being received. Europe is again leading the way with suppliers from Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain taking this opportunity to market their professional horse sports and leisure products and services to China. They are being joined by suppliers from as far afield as Australia, Canada, Japan and the USA.

Commenting on this trend Andrew Furness, Director of Tarsus Hope, said “These results highlight that China is increasingly being targeted by international suppliers keen to get an early foothold in this emerging yet potentially massive export market.” Expressing confidence in the future, he went on saying that “China’s ongoing robust economic performance will continue to drive growth in demand for the latest international standard products and services. Exporters entering the market now will be well placed to profit from this expansion by building brand loyalty amongst top buyers and putting into place an effective sales network.”
While there is a diverse range of products on offer from the international exhibitors including veterinary and equine healthcare and welfare products, transportation services and rider training programs, it is the high end horse breeders that are most in evidence. CHF 09 will welcome back previous exhibitors such as the Association of Spanish Purebred Horse Breeders of Extremadura (Spain), Ismer Stud (Germany) and McLaren High Performance Horses and, welcome for the first time ANCCE – National Association of Purebred Spanish Horse Breeders, APSL – Portuguese Association of Pure Breed Lusitano Horse Breeders, KWPN – Royal Warm-blood Studbook of the Netherlands, the U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, Ukraine.Zhashkov Stud-farm wil,Inc. Furness said “This strong showing from quality horse breeders is to be expected as both riding establishments and riders in China become evermore sophisticated and discerning and, the desire to be competitive on the international equestrian stage is actively supported at the highest levels.”
Taking place from 23-25 October 2009 at the China International Exhibition Center Beijing, CHF 09 is supported by the Chinese Equestrian Association, Chinese Horse Industry Association, promoted by CHINSE EQUESTRAIN WEBSITE(www.horse.org.cn). In addition to the exhibition, live demonstrations and seminars are being planned over the three days.
